Unique to each each installation it is used to store device preferences and locations directly. It is also used to index analytics and crash reporting.
Device data is associated with a Device ID. This data contains settings, preferences, saved locations, and other data required to allow for background work on Shadow Weather servers. Device data is removed after 42 days of inactivity.
Location is only accessed when in GPS mode. Location may be accessed when the app is closed. This data is not shared with third parties and is reduced in accuracy before being sent to Shadow Weather servers.
The user may also consent to Usage tracking (consent is default) for analytics. This will track and submit information about app usage such as when the app is opened, which pages are visited, and for how long. This can be disabled in the settings. This data is not shared. Raw data retention is 180 days.

Crash Reporting: Shadow Weather uses a crash reporting system (sentry.io) to find bugs and issues. When a crash or error happens; it is sent securely to a Shadow Weather server and that data is not shared. Individual event retention is 90 days.
Sensor data from the device like the barometer may be used to collect weather data for the service. Right now there is no sensor collection; but this may change in the future. It will likely be an opt-out feature.
The app is not intended for people under the age of 13. If we become aware that we have collected information from a child, we will take action to remove that data as soon as possible. Please contact us using any method listed in the “Contact” page.

The app is provided by “Shadow Weather LLC” (“we”, “us”, “Shadow Weather LLC”) to you as is and no warranty of any kind is given or implied. Subscribing or watching ads for premium status does not guarantee that you will get premium. Your subscription or credits may be cancelled at any time for any reason; however, assuming reasonable circumstances, you will retain your status as long as agreed upon.
There is no insurance or liability given for anything resulting from data that was incorrect or data used to make a decision. There is no guarantee of the app being available at any given time. If a subscription is purchased or rewarded, there is no guarantee that the app will be available for the duration of the subscription or premium credit.

Prices for premium access may change over time. Most of the time, the price at initial purchase is honored and unchanged, however in some instances it may not be possible to honor any given price for any amount of time.
